CRiB: Communication about Risk in Birthing

The goal of the CRiB study is to understand more about Black birthing people’s experiences with healthcare providers during pregnancy.

Study participants will complete a short, 20-30 minute survey about their experiences during pregnancy. After completing the survey, participants may also have the opportunity to schedule a 60 minute, one-on-one interview with a research team member. Participants can earn up to $60 for their time.

The TERM Study: Talking About Racism and Risk with Midwives

The goal of the TERM study is to better understand how certified midwives (CPM, CM, or CNM) in the United States communicate with patients during pregnancy about risks and complications. This project was developed by Drs. Emily Dove-Medows and Alison Walsh at the University of Michigan School of Nursing.

Study participants will complete a 60 minute, one-on-one interview with a member of the research team over Zoom. This interview will be focused on the participant’s work as a certified midwife. Participants will also be able to complete an online survey. Participants can earn up to $95 for their time.
